Religious Jewelry: A Fashion Flaw or Appropriately Fashionable?

Summary: Displaying religious jewelry in an open manner is always a questionable decision, especially when over half of the world’s population has a preferred religious practice.

Sporting religious jewelry for purely fashionable reasons comes with some form of controversy. It’s important to note that many of these pieces carry significant religious value to many and there’s always been a debate as to whether these pieces should be worn for holistic reasons or not.

Celebrity Influences

With a variety of celebrity influences donning religious pieces like a necklace with a cross or any other item that holds religious value, it’s starting to become something of a fashion statement. Whether this can be considered “right” amongst the public eye is highly debatable as it all comes down to those that believe in Christianity, Catholicism, or any other religion of their choice.

Regardless of the matter, it does stir the pot, with so many people living their lives through a specific religion. Should it be considered right to wear pieces from places like Christian.Jewelry just so it matches an outfit? What about the religious impact that it has for some people? Is it truly justified? The public opinion is still out there.

Should it Bother People?

Another question that people often ask is whether it should bother those that believe in a deity of some sort. To some individuals, there is a common misconception that a certain saint is representative of a specific aspect of life – which can be commonly debated by those that truly believe in a certain religion. Whatever the reason may be, it all comes down to the individual actually wearing the piece itself. While the public eye might see something wrong with it, it won’t change the fact that the religious value that it holds will almost always be voiced differently by the outside man or woman.

Tips to Stay Fashionable in Summer

There are a lot of possibilities when it comes to staying fashionable in summer. The following tips might help you out if you are faced with a dilemma about what to wear or a choice between a summer dress or shorts.

Skin tone bra with white T-Shirts

White T-shirts are certainly summer staples. They help to keep cool while at the same time are trendy. It’s a common misconception that wearing a white bra would be great with a white tee. This would result in your bra’s white clashing against your T-shirt’s white. The smooth cup of a nude bra would instead even out everything.

Practise remaining bare-footed

Summer is the perfect time to walk around wearing sandals without any stockings. While strappy sandals would make your feet look great, blisters might not. You might want to toughen your skin by applying some surgical spirit and practising by not wearing stockings around the house.

Wear a Light Jacket

Even if it’s summer, you might want to bring a light jacket with you when you leave the house. You might either choose a jacket made out of denim or canvas. If you are seeking a more contemporary style, you might want to opt for a bomber jacket or a blazer.

Wearing Fitted T-Shirts

Instead of wearing loose and baggy T-shirts, which are, let’s face it, quite unflattering, it might be a good idea to indulge into some body conscious dressing. You might look for fitted T-shirts in materials such as a cotton/Lycra blend. For the colors, classics such as white or black would be great with jeans.

Summer is Here

Summer is here and that means a whole new style for you and your current wardrobe. One of the unfortunate things about summer is that it tends to get a little too hot for comfort. This means that you’re going to have less layers to play around with. With less clothes to wear at any one time, it starts to get hard looking good, but worry not because here are a few tips on how to keep looking this summer!

Playing with colors

You may have less clothes but those clothes still have color. You can play around with the colors of your outfit and make a whole new look each time. There literally millions of color combinations out there for you to use! You can go with the conventional bright summer colors to give your look a cheery vibe or go with different color combos to give your outfit an edge. You can also play around with textures to make your outfit stand out from the rest.

Accessorize

With less clothes comes more skin, and there isn’t much to do with your skin except keep it looking fabulous. However, there are other pieces you can wear that don’t add to the heat you will feel. Spice up your outfit with bracelets and necklaces to give it a little extra something. Some jewelry can totally reinvent your outfit and the beauty of it all is that if you pick the right kind of jewelry, it can go with anything.

Why bright colors are much better for you during the

TEST TEST Temperate countries enjoy pleasant weather. But this does not mean that we are not susceptible to extremes in temperatures. Our country, especially in specific areas, experiences these extremes – weather that’s too cold, or weather that’s too warm. Especially when it comes to specific areas, winters can be harsh while the summers can be excruciating as well. As a person that’s fashionable, you’ll find that your mode of dressing can make summers bearable. Wearing bright colored clothes will help you bear the heat. The reason for this is because bright colored clothes absorb less heat than dark colored ones. So when you’re out and about in the summer, choose colors like pink and yellow, or just about anything that’s bright-colored. As a matter of fact, these same concepts even work on car paint. You’ll feel cooler as well as more comfortable under the sun. Of course, the type of clothes that you have on should also be an important factor. Always keep in mind that if you’re planning to go outdoors, like at the beach or the lake, you should stick to clothes that are thin and comfortable. This way, you wouldn’t be feeling too uneasy when you find yourself under the sun. With bright-colored clothes on, you would also look more cheerful – a disposition that’s fitting for a bright, sunny day that’s perfect to be spent on the beach. Bright-colored tops also go perfectly with neutral colored bottoms like white shorts. This way, it doesn’t clash with whatever you have on.

3 Fashion Myths that Don’t Hold Water

So, what works in the world of fashion? What doesn’t? While there are those who tend to take what they wear a bit too seriously, and turn it into binding rules, if you will, it can hardly be described as the apt approach to a lifestyle choice that changes literally every other day.

And which is why there are certain fashion myths that don’t hold water. So, here are 3 fashion myths that one shouldn’t take seriously at all:

#1: No Minis for Women Over 35

You’ll know that this isn’t true especially if you’ve seen Gwyneth Palthrow’s legs in that Preen dress recently. If you think it works for you, you should certainly try it but ensure that you go for simple makeup and hair while choosing only understated silhouettes.

#2: Sequins should be worn at night only

This attention-drawing fabric tends to go well if worn along with plain basics, and does not have to be worn only at night, even if that’s the prevailing opinion. One example that has challenged the status quo is the combination of clothes that Rachel Bilson wore, including an Oxford shirt along with a mini.

#3: Long dresses aren’t for short women

This is hardly the case since several women have changed this opinon about the maxidress trend namely Eva Longoria, Kristen Bell, Jessica Simpson and so on and so forth. Although, it’s a good idea to pick a dress with light fabric so as to avoid bulk. One example of this is Bell’s silk gown made by Jenni Kayne.

5 Tips that Will Help You Get Ready Faster

If there’s a common experience that we all share, it’s getting ready in time for work. Rushing to work without looking presentable isn’t an option and so, it becomes important to find ways to beat the clock but also looking your best.

So, here are 5 time-saving tricks that will help you do so:

#1: Keep Your Makeup All in One Place

Being organized is the key. You can a good amount time having all your makeup in one place while not having to search for them if they’re all over the place.

#2: Use Makeup that is in Stick Form

Since shadow sticks, stick foundation, eye liner pencils and cream blush all come in a tube, you won’t have to waste your time with a brush. Better still: you can apply it on the go, if you don’t have time. Opt for makeup that is in stick form.

#3: Multi-tasking is the key

Multi-tasking can also ensure you save a lot of time. For example, air dry your hair when you are doing your makeup or even shave your legs when your conditioner is soaking in or simpler still, brush your teeth while waiting for the water to warm up.

#4: Use products that save time

Products like Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturizer and the Gillette Venus & Olay Razor can really speed up your routine. They’re easy to find and inexpensive to purchase.

#5: Use music

One way to get ready for work quicker is to put on some music, a ‘getting ready’ playlist, which you can time accordingly to the number of minutes that you might want to take in order to get ready.

Stand out at your next event with these 5 styling tricks

With winter around the corner, you may feel that you need to get back to wearing darker shades. However, if you are looking to stand out, here are some interesting style tricks that will make you stand out from the crowd.

Wear white on white – A full white outfit will make heads turn as soon as you walk in. Think of a white playsuit or a classic shift dress. Pair your outfit with white or nude heels and a classy white clutch.

Stay away from the traditional colors – Holiday outfits include the usual red, green and plaid. Change up your combination and choose white, nude or gray. Liven your outfit with bright shoes and a matching bag.

Go slow on the metallics – Sequin/glitter/bedazzle-fest can be difficult on the eyes. Instead bring in a bit of glitter with accents such as a glitzy pair of shoes, bag or jewelry.

Lace up your legs – Hosiery can keep you warm and look fancy. Just invest in black opaque stockings for a work event and a pair with shimmer for a holiday party look.

Play with textures and colors – Add different fabrics like suede, prints, and faux furs to create interest. If you are subtle, add these textures to belts, shoes, bag or accessories like jewelry.

Always remember that your outfit should be comfortable, warm and let you feel your best during the festive season.

Western Fashion

Article Written by : A Wedding Ideas

Southwestern jewelry, leather, denim, beads.

Western Fashion is also fringe flying, intricate beadwork, chain stitch embroidery, rhinestones, yokes and snap fronts.  That is western fashion in its traditional sense.

Western Fashion can be:  carved leather bustier cinched tight with silk ribbon giving way to a ball gown skirt made with miles of black silk.  Or it can be a wool gabardine tuxedo jacket in petal pink appliquéd in the most charming and chic way with a chocolate and cream pattern straight from a saddle over a pair of satin tuxedo pants.

Western Fashion can be Wrangler Jeans, starched white shirt, Stetson hat, carved leather belt with silver buckle and cowboy boots. Western Fashion can be a fringed leather jacket, straight  sexy skirt with beautiful southwestern jewelry.

Western Fashion can be delightfully fun and really just about anything goes.  It just depends on what you are doing and what western fashion statement you want to make.

6 Celebs Who Are Beauty and Skincare Trainwrecks

We look at celebrities with admiration, and we imitate their fashion and beauty routines. But some celebs can also teach us a thing or two about what not to do. Here are a few:

Lindsey Lohan: When it comes to pretty skin, Lindsey Lohan has two strikes against her—dull texture and uneven pigment. Both can result from a poor lifestyle. Too much sun, stress, lack of sleep and smoking—all of which Lindsey is notorious for–can take a toll on skin.

Terri Hatcher: She may have been “spectacular” on the Seinfeld episode in the 90s, but since then, Terri has accumulated some bad habits when it comes to healthy skin. She has larger pores and sunken eyes, which indicate insufficient sleep. Her facial stiffness is evidence she may have overdone it on the Botox. And her too-low body weight exaggerates all of these ills.

Renee Zellweger: This Academy Award-winning actress is just one of many celebrities said to have the skin condition rosacea, with its telltale rosy, red cheeks. Rosacea causes redness and persistent flushing of the skin, especially on the face. Zellweger can protect her skin with topical creams, cleansers, moisturizers, medication, and possibly the short-term use of cortisone cream or even pulsed light treatments. Rosacea can also be hidden using makeup, as long as it doesn’t aggravate the conditionNaturally plagued with the skin condition rosacea, which causes redness and flushing, Renee Zellweger has also made some lifestyle mistakes that may worsen her complexion. These include stress, too little sleep, and too much sun.

Snooki: She’s already notorious for overindulging in sun and shots at the Jersey Shore. Snooki has also been known to engage in strange beauty shenanigans like using her cat’s litter to exfoliate her skin. No pun intended, kitty litter can scratch the skin and lead to dehydration and even more irritation, so you’re best to leave it for the cat.

Courtney Love: Most would agree Courtney Love takes the disheveled rock star look a bit too far. The dark, runny eyeliner and bleeding lipstick are less than flattering on–and potentially damaging to–her Celebrity Skin.

Lady Gaga: The eccentric performer changes her look as often as her clothes—at a cost. She’s been known to take beauty shortcuts like removing eye makeup and glitter with scotch tape.
