Tips to Stay Fashionable in Summer

There are a lot of possibilities when it comes to staying fashionable in summer. The following tips might help you out if you are faced with a dilemma about what to wear or a choice between a summer dress or shorts.

Skin tone bra with white T-Shirts

White T-shirts are certainly summer staples. They help to keep cool while at the same time are trendy. It’s a common misconception that wearing a white bra would be great with a white tee. This would result in your bra’s white clashing against your T-shirt’s white. The smooth cup of a nude bra would instead even out everything.

Practise remaining bare-footed

Summer is the perfect time to walk around wearing sandals without any stockings. While strappy sandals would make your feet look great, blisters might not. You might want to toughen your skin by applying some surgical spirit and practising by not wearing stockings around the house.

Wear a Light Jacket

Even if it’s summer, you might want to bring a light jacket with you when you leave the house. You might either choose a jacket made out of denim or canvas. If you are seeking a more contemporary style, you might want to opt for a bomber jacket or a blazer.

Wearing Fitted T-Shirts

Instead of wearing loose and baggy T-shirts, which are, let’s face it, quite unflattering, it might be a good idea to indulge into some body conscious dressing. You might look for fitted T-shirts in materials such as a cotton/Lycra blend. For the colors, classics such as white or black would be great with jeans.

Summer is Here

Summer is here and that means a whole new style for you and your current wardrobe. One of the unfortunate things about summer is that it tends to get a little too hot for comfort. This means that you’re going to have less layers to play around with. With less clothes to wear at any one time, it starts to get hard looking good, but worry not because here are a few tips on how to keep looking this summer!

Playing with colors

You may have less clothes but those clothes still have color. You can play around with the colors of your outfit and make a whole new look each time. There literally millions of color combinations out there for you to use! You can go with the conventional bright summer colors to give your look a cheery vibe or go with different color combos to give your outfit an edge. You can also play around with textures to make your outfit stand out from the rest.

Accessorize

With less clothes comes more skin, and there isn’t much to do with your skin except keep it looking fabulous. However, there are other pieces you can wear that don’t add to the heat you will feel. Spice up your outfit with bracelets and necklaces to give it a little extra something. Some jewelry can totally reinvent your outfit and the beauty of it all is that if you pick the right kind of jewelry, it can go with anything.

Airbrush Tanning Prep Tips

Written by Cosmix Inc.

Who doesn’t want a golden tan throughout the year? Fortunately, getting a golden tan doesn’t have to involve harmful UV rays. A growing number of health-conscious men and women are getting natural-looking tans without ever stepping foot into a tanning salon or lying out in the sun. How? Airbrush tanning. Sure, there are many sunless tanning products on the market. But none of them come close to the color and beauty of an airbrush tan.

However, before you can get an airbrush tan, it’s important to prep your skin. Getting your skin ready for an air tan will ensure that you get an even, long-lasting tan. Here’s how to get your body ready for airbrush tanning.

Cleanse and exfoliate. An airbrush tan can’t get applied evenly on dry, rough, or uneven skin. Before going to the salon, cleanse and exfoliate your skin the morning of the treatment. Use soap to remove sweat, perfumes, lotion or oil. Then exfoliate the skin from your face to your toes. Exfoliating the skin requires more than cleaning the skin with soap and water. You will need to remove the dead surface layer of your skin using an exfoliating brush, salt scrub, sugar scrub, or an exfoliating scrub.

Along with traditional exfoliating treatments you can try at home, many beauty salons offer their own exfoliating treatments, such as gels and pH balancing prep wipes. If you’re getting your treatment done by a professional makeup artist who has attended one of the leading schools for makeup artistry, the technician might apply a pre-tan exfoliator lotion. This lotion is designed to not only exfoliate the skin, but also remove any final sweat, perfumes, oil and moisturizers.

Get rid of unwanted hair. Another important step to preparing the skin for an airbrush tan is to remove any unwanted hair from your arms, legs, and other areas of the body. But how and when you remove the hair is what matters. Shave unwanted hair the night before your treatment. If you are going to wax the hair, simply wait four days before getting an airbrush tan.

Remove jewelry and clothes. The final part to preparing your body for an airbrush tan is the removal of everything from jewelry to clothes. An airbrush tan must be applied while wearing special disposable coverings, including disposable caps, bras, and thongs. You can also wear your bathing suit. The makeup artists at Cosmix Inc. are taught the proper way to apply an airbrush tan, which includes the proper body positions you will need to get into during the application.

Make up tips for summer

Written by: Daily Makeover Beauty Board

Summer is all about minimal makeup and maximum glow. You would not want to layer on too much with the risk that it might all melt away with sweat. The only thing that ask for generous lathering in summer is sunscreen. The tips below could help you perfect that summer look.

Concealing

Whether it’s just for a beach look or for a more carefree summer style, this about keeping your makeup minimal. A concealer could help you with that. You could use it to cover up any spot, blemishes and dark circles and to skip foundation.

Tinted moisturizer

If you require some additional coverage apart from the concealer, you might opt for a tinted moisturizer. This would help you achieve an even tone on your skin and would give you a nice summer glow.

Apply bronzer

While staying out in the sun too much is not recommended, you could give the impression that you have gained some tan by applying bronzer on your face. The application of the bronzer should be light and not overdone. Opt for bronzer that have peach or pink undertones and apply over the apples of the cheeks, on your nose and temple.

Waterproof mascara

Use waterproof mascara especially if you would be splashing water on your face often to get rid of the heat or going for a swim. Brown waterproof mascaras are great for summer looks as they are discreet.

Wear light lipsticks

Use lightweight lipsticks or tinted lip balms to help you feel fresh and not bulk up your lips.

Three Makeup Techniques to Enhance Your Eyes

Every woman wants beautiful eyes, but aging can quickly turn healthy-looking eyes into tired-looking eyes. No problem! Are you concerned about the pouches under your eyes? Do your upper eyelids sag? There’s a makeup trick for nearly every condition in the book, several of which help to conceal issues related to your eyes. Before you can apply eyeshadow, mascara, and other eye makeup on your face, learn how to correct a few unwanted features with these easy makeup techniques.

Make under Eye Ledges Disappear

Under eye ledges occur when the area right underneath the eye is depressed. To correct this problem, Cosmix Inc. — one of the top schools for makeup artists — recommends highlighting the upper side of the ledge and blending into the soft edge of the eye shadow, pointing down away from the eye.

Erase Pouches under the Eye

Puffy eyes can really make someone look tired. As with most problems, pouches under the eye develop over time due to aging. To get rid of the puffiness, highlight the hard edge of the crease and blend up into the soft edge. To push back the puffy area, apply a slightly darker contour to the puffy area.

Raise Upper Eye Lid Sag

Another issue caused by aging, the skin above the eye can sag on the outside corner of the eye. To correct this issue, Cosmix Inc. makeup classes teach students to apply the highlight onto the hard edge underneath the sag. Next, blend the highlight into the soft edge above.

Makeup Artist Beauty Secrets

Adding some ideas to your bag of makeup tricks can always come in handy, so here’s what a selection of professional makeup artists recommend:

EYES
Line up Your Liner: Start with a pencil liner to get a straighter line, then go over the line with a liquid liner so the latter goes on without smudging.

De-Puff: Chill out your eye lotion in the freezer for a while, then apply to your lids before you add the eye makeup. This may help reduce puffiness.

LIPS
Point It out: Make sure your lip liner has a super-sharp point. Since hunting for sharpeners can be a headache, look for products with built-in sharpeners. This makes the pencil easier to control for an on-point application.

Match Tones: Pull out your lower lip and check out what color it is on the inside. Then go with a lipstick shade that’s pretty much the same tone as the inside of the lip, but maybe a bit lighter or slightly deeper so you get a look that works best for your kisser’s unique tone.

BROWS
Feed Them: Add some depth to brows that are sparse by putting on a nourishing balm before bedtime. In two weeks, you should see this extra bit of TLC add some needed thickness.

Stop the Smears: A gel liner designed for long wear that’s set with a bit of powder is a good way to keep everything in place with no unpleasant smearing.

FACE
Brush It off:
When trying to cover up blemishes, go with a concealer brush and use concentrated, short motion so the bristles can reach those pimple crevices more easily and cover it up more effectively.

Liquidate: Try a hydrating mask before you get your makeup on, since this can help deliver some always-welcome moisture to the skin and prep it nicely.

#1: Keep Your Makeup All in One Place

Being organized is the key. You can a good amount time having all your makeup in one place while not having to search for them if they’re all over the place.

#2: Use Makeup that is in Stick Form

Since shadow sticks, stick foundation, eye liner pencils and cream blush all come in a tube, you won’t have to waste your time with a brush. Better still: you can apply it on the go, if you don’t have time. Opt for makeup that is in stick form.

#3: Multi-tasking is the key

Multi-tasking can also ensure you save a lot of time. For example, air dry your hair when you are doing your makeup or even shave your legs when your conditioner is soaking in or simpler still, brush your teeth while waiting for the water to warm up.

#4: Use products that save time

Products like Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturizer and the Gillette Venus & Olay Razor can really speed up your routine. They’re easy to find and inexpensive to purchase.

One way to get ready for work quicker is to put on some music, a ‘getting ready’ playlist, which you can time accordingly to the number of minutes that you might want to take in order to get ready.

Stand out at your next event with these 5 styling tricks

With winter around the corner, you may feel that you need to get back to wearing darker shades. However, if you are looking to stand out, here are some interesting style tricks that will make you stand out from the crowd.

Wear white on white – A full white outfit will make heads turn as soon as you walk in. Think of a white playsuit or a classic shift dress. Pair your outfit with white or nude heels and a classy white clutch.

Stay away from the traditional colors – Holiday outfits include the usual red, green and plaid. Change up your combination and choose white, nude or gray. Liven your outfit with bright shoes and a matching bag.

Go slow on the metallics – Sequin/glitter/bedazzle-fest can be difficult on the eyes. Instead bring in a bit of glitter with accents such as a glitzy pair of shoes, bag or jewelry.

Lace up your legs – Hosiery can keep you warm and look fancy. Just invest in black opaque stockings for a work event and a pair with shimmer for a holiday party look.

Play with textures and colors – Add different fabrics like suede, prints, and faux furs to create interest. If you are subtle, add these textures to belts, shoes, bag or accessories like jewelry.

Always remember that your outfit should be comfortable, warm and let you feel your best during the festive season.
